Recent photography June 2013...some of my favourites from my trip to Nova Scotia.

I love this shot & the one below...both back lit & with lots of mood and softness.

This family trio photo I took shows so much personality! In both the woman
& her dog & I love how I captured her husband in the background cooking...such domestic bliss.

This incredible island in the Atlantic ocean has a huge boulder in the middle,
left behind by melting glaciers.

The moors near Peggy's Cove. You can see the famous light house way in the background. It was cloudy & rainy
almost the whole week I was there. I will post more photos from my trip soon...I hope you enjoyed these.
The big splash.

Gothic fashion photo shoot May 2013

My model on location at Casa Loma. All styling, makeup and photography in this session by Margaret Irving.

This is my "book cover" shot. ;) The heroine rushes to escape the villain in the castle!

My "Mona Lisa" photo, taken in my studio in front of one of my oil paintings.

Portraits of Randall Savoie by Margaret Irving, May 2013

A dramatic pose.

I love this shot! I had to stand in the closet to get this one, but it was worth it.
Randall plays guitar as part of the band Suzana d'Amour.

Randall with his art as a backdrop. I confess I had to make him up a little with Johnny Depp eyes,
just as a creative project I wanted to get out of my system. Randall was a great sport about that and he had
some great ideas, too. It was a fun photo shoot.

This makeup is an example of a test session before a bride's wedding day. The makeup is discussed, tested and approved by the bride. Careful notes and a photo are taken to ensure the look is repeated on the actual day of the ceremony. Special attention is paid to waterproof mascara & long-wear lipstick and oil blotting papers are given to the bride for keeping the look fresh all day. Contact me for your own personal session.

New makeup before & after photos March 15, 2013

Before makeup.

After makeup and hair gel.
Here is a lady with reddish tones in her skin especially around her nose. She needed her skin tone balanced out and the emphasis put on her eyes. Colour balancing was especially important with this client as she loves the purple colour in her hair, but it was causing the focus to go to the redness in her face instead of having her large brown eyes and overall look of lively vibrancy be the star.
First I used a green based concealer to counteract the redness and a liquid foundation which I custom blended. Translucent powder was brushed on. A warm brown eye shadow to add depth to her eyelids and light brown eyebrow pencil to give definition followed. She had gotten out of the habit of curling her eyelashes and doing that and adding a coat of black mascara really made her eyes pop. Lastly I applied a purplish lip pencil with a light coat of lipstick for a slight shine.
She loved the result and plans to use her new-found knowledge to look great every day!
Call or email me to set up an appointment for YOUR personal before and after makeup session full of custom tips and product recommendations just for you. Price including a natural light photo $75. Location at my Toronto studio in the Bathurst Street and St.Clair Ave West area.
Makeup applications for everyday, special occasions, weddings, photo shoots, film and television.

Art show installation Feb 28, 2013.

Here is the north view of the show. I wish I'd taken more photos of the other walls!

The show sign outside the gallery.
I was happy to have a repeat customer in artist Suzanne Metz, whose show I installed in the gallery at the Wychwood Barns on Feb 28th, 2013. She was ecstatic at how it looked with the artistic flow of paintings according to colour and content as well as the mathematical correctness in height and distance between each piece which makes it look perfect. Her show only ran three days, but was very successful, with many pieces being sold.
