Landscape painting in progress Aug 8, 2013

I'm working on an oil painting...a landscape inspired by
a scene from this past weekend's road trip in the beautiful
countryside of  Ontario. After a morning dedicated to yoga
and painting I think it will be time for a swim on the islands!

This old album cover was the inspiration for
a fun personal project I've been wanting to
do for some time. I love his albino colouring;
how it contrasts with the "Glam Rock" makeup
and the out-of-this-world necklace. The title
of the album...They Only Come Out At Night,
suggests a certain type of creature, for sure.

Here is the final product. All makeup and photography by Margaret Irving.
Can you guess if the necklace is a loan from Harry Winston, or dollar store
stick-on gems? ;)  Okay,  I made the necklace myself with stick on gems, to
very good effect, I think.

Steampunk makeup and photoshoot July 13, 2013

photos are from a photo shoot I did last Saturday, as part
of a movie promotion I'm working on. 

This photo I took may end up on a movie poster!
 That will be after some digital alterations for the
 background of course!
I shot it in Barn 2 at the Wychwood Barns where I
have my studio.

July 11 A pretty girl & a serious man.

This portrait is meant to be very serious and thoughtful as it is for a
movie promo and this is the look he wanted. More to come on this

Pop Art reprint. It's a good thing my files are well organized!

This week I had a request to do a smaller version of a house painting that was given as a wedding gift back in 2007. It's one of the perks of my art career that I get to create gifts like this that have special sentimental meaning for the people they are given to.
